What we charge
Realistically, it is not possible to quote prices beforehand without finding out what specifically needs to be done. Often it is a series of malfunctions that has finally resulted in your computer no longer being efficient. Just like cars, computers require maintenance, they do have wear and tear with use and some models have inherent defects.
But this is what you will save:
The Initial diagnostics fee, charged by in-store repair places is usually $60 and up, for laptops it's usually twice that and even higher. Usually there is "No Refund" of the initial consultation fee, especially in the case of laptops, if you determine it's too costly to fix based upon what the serviceperson finds wrong. We do this for free. We just charge for our trip costs, which are usually $5~ $20.
In-store individual diagnostic, software or hardware installation, and data backup costs add up to being one large total charge.
Advanced diagnostic and repairs in-store start at $300 and you will usually have some extra charges added on.
Just a one-time data backup in some places is $100 for the first 9 gigabytes of data transfer! That gets to be pretty expensive considering 100GB+ drives are common place today. Why pay the $300 charge for having a large drive. We charge one flat fee, no matter the amount of data back involved and it's 50% the cost.
In store charges for basic data recovery of accidentally deleted files starts at $259 and advanced recovery of data from hard drives can be anywhere from $400 to over $5000. You will find our prices are less for the same work! Plus if no data is recoverable, we charge nothing. Retail outlets charge you even if no data is recovered.
And the list goes on.... we provide the same services at lower costs and the bonus is we get to know your needs at your pace, often teaching you along the way. This sure beats the 5 minutes of in-store counter time given to you to explain your needs.
When you go to a retail chain, your costs pay for the rents, all employees salaries and every other operating expense of doing business, why do that?
